What problem are you trying to solve?
The “Hand off to IDE” feature already supports VS Code and several other IDEs and CLI tools. However, VS Codium is currently missing.
VS Codium is the fully open source build of VS Code, without Microsoft branding, telemetry and tracking. Many developers who care about open source and privacy prefer VS Codium over VS Code for exactly that reason.
Since Open Design is itself an open source project, supporting VS Codium would fit very well with the spirit of the platform. Right now, users who prefer a telemetry-free open source IDE do not have a direct handoff option.
Describe the solution you'd like
Please add VS Codium as an additional option in the “Hand off to IDE” menu, next to VS Code.
The behavior could be similar to the existing VS Code handoff, but using VS Codium’s executable or URI handling where applicable.
Alternatives you've considered
