Alarms UI uses icon + label to describe alarm state, and needs icons to accompany Clear and Cleared.

🧪 Research

SLS doesn't use an icon for the normal/clear state:

…but we tend to use a Check for most positive statuses, so a broom icon doesn't feel like it fits SLE.

The current set of icons listed below were not ideal for alarm status. These icons all would benefit from a less generic approach.

• Error icon for set,
• Warning icon for cleared
• Success-check for acknowledged

I looked into the most common metaphors for clear. Then narrowed down to options that made sense in the context of an alarm status. I provided a few recommendations for series of icons to create a cohesive set.

Working with Fred, we narrowed down to example "A" in the attached image.
