Since the new Covid-19 wave is expected to peak only by mid-May and with barely little supply of oxygen across the country, can we do the following to focus attention on those patients that need the most oxygen?

  1. Build an extension on Arogya Setu to allow the patient/patient’s Family/ medical attendant to capture a picture/video of a patient with SPO2 reading on the oximeter. A simple data form with a video KYC plug-in for short video capture (to make sure the capture is actually not a fake report ) to make sure the source is trustworthy to respond with limited resources

  2. Arogya Setu can securely report this telemetry (location, patient information, SPO2 data ) from across the country on a national emergency portal and then the city COVID-19 War rooms can address patients with severe SP02 levels (<80% or whatever is the threshold recommended). The existing questionnaire can seek data on SPO2 with supporting video.

  3. With a limited supply of Oxygen, this could at least help focus on critical patients and make the health response logistics a bit more effective.

  4. With contact tracing already in Arogya Sethu, one can also check for oximeter availability in the neighbourhood from recent reporting of other patients.

let's do our bit to handle the crisis across the country. thanks

Sujith
