The Text / Preview tag are not available on files that were open before you installed the plugin

I created a README.md in my project using Intellij 13.1.2 on windows 7. It asked me to download a plugin for this file type and I agreed. After the plugin installed, the Text and Preview tags were not available. I restarted Intellij, same issue. The thing that fixed it was closing the README.md tab and reopening the file. Then the tabs were visible.

I think they should be visible immediately after installing the plugin. Other users may not know that it's there and think the plugin only does syntax highlighting.

Notice: This plugin is no more maintained and it has been removed from Jetbrains plugins repository. There is a Markdown plugin officially supported by Jetbrains.
