How is license linked to my purchase? [other] #1681

Hello, I love this product and I want to pay the money for it. However, I do not see anywhere that the purchase is linked to any account nor can I "restore a purchase"....I know I am not the first person to ask about this....but, what if I reinstall MAC OS on my laptop, I have to pay for the program all over again? There should be a way the purcahse is linked to an account or something.
