Lolas are oatmeal based cookies with coconut, cherry, almond and white chocolate chips.
Wet:
- 3/4 cup softened shortening
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Dry:
- 1 1/2 cup pastery flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3 cups oats, uncooked
- 1/2 cup shreaded coconut
- 1/2 dried cherries
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- Pre-heat over to 350 degrees farenheit
- In a large bowl beat all the "wet" ingredients together until they are creamy.
- Mix all the dry ingredients together and add them to the wet ingredients.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
- Bake in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Cookies are done when they are still slightly soft.
Bars:
- follow steps 1-3.
- Press the dough into a 13x9 inch baking pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cut into rectangles.
