Hi @samueltauil Thanks for this. I know you were on the cdCon + GitOpsCon program committee but would you and/or others outline why folks should vote for Samuel to be an OpenGitOps maintainer?

While I've personally had a period of less public involvement in the WG and project (hopefully to participate more publicly again soon), I still want to help ensure this process is fair and transparent to everyone in the GitOps community. Check out the examples of past nominations here: https://github.com/open-gitops/project/pulls?q=is%3Apr+maintainer+is%3Aclosed.

This is something we also require folks who volunteer to join one of the teams - for example #122. It's also good to distinguish whether what you want to do can be accomplished by joining one or more of the project teams, rather than necessarily being a project maintainer.

To clarify the differences:

PS "Committees" in the Governance doc should be updated to "Teams." That's a follow-up task in a list on this PR #148. Those follow-up tasks really should become new issues, if someone wants to help make those.
