Hi guys,

I would like become an constributor.
I work for the biggest german news agency and we are very interested in covering the european area for elections and parliaments in ocd format.

Which doesn't mean I won't help support other countries/elections. ;)

Best,
Steve

Hi @sguenther85, have you had a look at https://opencivicdata.readthedocs.io/en/latest/proposals/0008.html ? You are already a contributor since you have contributed pull requests :). Are you asking to become a committer, with your primary geography being the European Union?

@jpmckinney I'd like to be able to merge pull requests. ;)

According to the linked OCDEP:

  • There will be a two month period where existing committers may raise objections to a request, otherwise the request will be considered approved.
  • In the case that an objection is raised, a discussion and vote will be had amongst the country’s existing committers, with a simple majority necessary for approval.
  • A majority of a country’s committers participation is necessary for a quorum on all voting matters.

I don't think we have any committers for any European country at the moment, so I figure we'll use global committers for quorum. The other two committers are @afsmythe @rsimoes

I'm fine with approving. If we get two more, then we can add you before the two-month period above. Please familiarize yourself with the contribution rules in the OCDEP in the meantime.

We don't get have a CONTRIBUTING.RST as described in the OCDEP, but we can perhaps start one, to indicate who the committers are for different regions/global.
