Several of these are covered as Core Data Packaged datasets at: https://github.com/datasets

I know you are already pretty knowledgeable about Data Packages ;-) so I was wondering if we could converge / reuse here e.g. you could build this package by pulling from core datasets and merging or similar ...?

@rgrp Thanks for highlighting (Tabular) Data Packages and the Core Datasets. Fantastic initiative. Love and support it. Keep it up.

About world.csv - this gets auto-generated from the world.db (it's a public domain single-file SQLite database, thus, the name) - so I'm sorry to say that pulling it from core datasets doesn't make sense - maybe upstream - that is, using the core datasets country code for the world.db sources itself - but again world.db is more "pragmatic" - the idea is that you can easily (e.g. just text files) reconfigure your country lists (and codes) - once you get to dependencies and territories it becomes polictial or better to say there are many alternatives (and world.db works for all alternatives). Not sure if this makes sense. Anyway, to conclude definitely support the core data package initiative - needs more study how to make it work together better. Cheers.

@geraldb great - so shall i submit a new issue upstream on world.db and we discuss there?

PS: I'm coming to Vienna in a couple of weeks if you are in the area ... https://discuss.okfn.org/t/open-knowledge-meetup-in-vienna-march-2016/2052

@rgrp Welcome to Vienna. The world.db is just a small project - so far really just my humble self - and there's only so much I can do in a day or week or month. Adding more "upstream" sources is planned but there's no definite road map. If you like and don't mind you're welcome to open a ticket / issue on world.db repo - that will serve as a reminder for future reference and discussion (sorry can't work on it now) and of course will try my best (if you're interested) to come to the Vienna OK FN meetup (if it is open to the public). So far for my little open data projects (world.db, football.db) there's zero interest in the Austrian open data "community". Not really complaining. Thanks for your interest. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
