This is a sub-issue. See also #841.

Perhaps the easiest solution it to pre-render the plot and then simply include the saved image rather than generate it on-the-fly.

Error: processing vignette 'example.Rmd' failed with diagnostics:
Package "DiagrammeR" is required to plot a `data.tree::Node`object. Please install it.
