Why do you need it?
I'm using OpenSandbox as the execution backend for a coding agent. I found POST /files/replace for replacing text, but couldn't find an API for Codex-style apply_patch, or the executable in the opensandbox/execd:v1.1.0 image.
OpenAI's Codex prompting guide recommends its exact apply_patch implementation because the model was trained on that diff format. I'd like to let the model use that format when editing files in the sandbox.
How could it be?
Has apply_patch support been considered? Is there a reason it isn't included, or is this something applications are expected to provide themselves?
If it belongs outside OpenSandbox's API, is installing OpenAI's standalone executable in a custom sandbox image the recommended approach?
Other related information
I checked #982 and #991. Those address replacement feedback for the existing file API. I'm asking about the apply_patch format used by Codex (*** Begin Patch / *** End Patch).
