I think I did everything I could.
Set the correct LBA=4096
Set ashift=12
Updated the disk firmware
Disabled compression, cache, enabled direct, etc.
One of the best Intel U2 NVME drives - D7 P5520
recordsize is set to 16kb for postgres (8kb records), does it make THAT much of an impact?

zpool create -o ashift=12
-O xattr=sa
-O recordsize=16k
-O atime=off
-O redundant_metadata=most
-O primarycache=none
-O logbias=throughput
-O compression=off
-O direct=always
storage mirror /dev/nvme4n1 /dev/nvme5n1
10 times slower than EXT4 !
