It's really easy to generate new addresses or new characters on Crossbell, so we have to make some limitations when it comes to vote and governance. For example, if Crossbell wants to call a vote to approve a new CIP, we should make sure voting shares and decisions powers are distributed into entities who will be actually affected by the result of the vote.
This is where CBTs(character bound tokens) can come into play. We can stipulate that only those who hold a certain kind of CBTs can vote, like
one vote for one twitter identity
.But what if you don't want to reveal your true identity when voting? Like what vitalik said in his blog, soul bound token privacy is an important part of making this kind of ecosystem work well. Fortunately, we have several brilliant projects working on that, like sismos.
Should we embed those privacy protocols in our Crossbell?
Does this kind of privacy matter to you or do you have any better solution?
