Passing Variable to Method

Hi all,

i have a Method where i do a Mysql select and set result0 to Textfield. That works great so far.
The result1 i´m passing via

$evm.instantiate("/OWN/DEV/Methods/get_id?result='#{result1}'")

inside the get_id Method i set input Parameter "result"

for some reason the Textfield doesn´t get filled, any clou ?

Do you have to call save! or save on the $evm.object?

What is $evm.object referring to in this case? I suspect that's not the thing you want to store these values into.

I think you only use $evm.inputs when calling a method in the same class (https://pemcg.gitbooks.io/mastering-automation-in-cloudforms-4-2-and-manage/content/argument_passing_and_handling/chapter.html)

I thought you put the value you want to pass into the workspace in an agreed upon location and the receiving method would pull that value out of that location.

Not claiming this is ideal, but that is how I've seen this done.
