In commit 559ea32 (dated 2024, Nov, 20) we could add a new libexec/ directory holding just shared objects of dlopen-able plugins and build each plugin using an improved ./do-build-plugin executable.
We then could either edit the GNUMakefile rule for plugins phony target or add some libexec_plugins phony target to build these using do-build-plugin
