Feedback about the new UI for the firefox extension #12584

Agreed - the new UI seems to just be "more clicks to do stuff that was accessible before" Like the old UI had your saved cards under possible logins, that's now been replaced with "All items" which is just not useful, and to get the old card list back I have to click into the filter instead (every time). Similarly filling in a saved identity used to just be scroll down and click, now it requires using the filters instead. |

I find it very annoying too, a single button already exposed would be better. a trade-of im willing to make for productivity |

Why do I now need to pop the window out to access the Generator and all the other functions that were at the bottom? The pop out window also has some issues with DPI / zoom scaling and does not fit into the set window size. |

Note, there is an option under Settings > Appearance to bring back the buttons: Personally, the new vault UI is so much faster than the old version that it would be worth a lot of annoyances even without the setting. And I like the Fill button; I found it confusing that the default behavior for clicking the identity entry would change (fill vs open card) depending on whether it's shown in the list because you searched for it or because it matches the current domain. My only gripe is that the click target for the Fill button is a bit small. |

I feel this should be enabled by default. Hiding the most used buttons (at least in my case) behind additional clicks, just to get a nicer UI is not good for a tool that should focus more on ease of use and productivity. UX > UI |

Not sure if this is intentional or a bug, but have experienced longer than usual persistence. i.e. will go back to browser after hours and click on extension, and it'll be on the "View Login" page from some interaction with some website many hours ago. I feel the more intuitive behaviour would be to timeout to the main Vault after some time. Don't have exact steps to repro just yet, but posting in case anyone else experienced this :) |

I will add my couple of cents too. What annoys me even more though is the fact the opened card stays open forever. In previous version you opened a detail of entry, copied stuff you needed, closed the Bitwarden, did your thing, opened Bitwarden again and you were at "Home screen" ready to roll (search item, paste payment card details, ...). Now you end up stuck on the one hour ago opened detail and need to realize what you see, click back, and then continue your journey. Annoying. Enormously. I'd love a mixture between new and old behavior. Sometimes I need to copy username & password to another app, so I go here and there and unless you open (in precious version) Bitwarden in separate window, it got reset to "Home screen" and you needed to search for the item you wanted again, which was annoying. But less annoying than current state. I'd love if there would be some say 30 secs timer after which the opened detail closes and you got back to "Home". On the other hand I love the new design - it's great. I love the behavior with "Fill" button and "click everywhere else to get on detail", because - as already stated by someone else above - it was super confusing and sometimes led to unwanted fills. I like wide window with icons to copy details, it's perfect.
Just re-think the not self-closing detail and hiding cards / identity under All Items and I will love Bitwarden with my all hearth again. Thank you! |

Here is some feedback: The app and functionality 5/5 The usability is much worse
In terms of good design, make sure you preserve old behavior and give options to switch to new behavior, not the other way around.
Please do usability testing before a major release such as this one. I feel a bit embarrassed I recommended bit-warden over LastPass / 1Password etc after this redesign. |

This new ui objectively worse in every way possible. I shouldn't have click a tiny fill button nor enable a hidden setting to get close to enough functionality of the old version. |

Thanks for starting this thread! Please bring back clicking on the item to autofill login info. I'm losing a lot of productivity with the tiny fill button. I'm having trouble retraining my brain to look for the button instead of directly clicking on the item I want to use. Is it possible to re-install an old version with the old UI? |

The Firefox extension does not appear to have the latest changes (or perhaps it's just not been fixed on Firefox). There is no option under Settings -> Autofill -> Autofill on click (or whatever the name is) This functionality is available on Chrome, but not Firefox. It seems the last update was 12/3, so is it just a matter of someone needing to send an update to the Firefox store? |

Code Contribution Proposal
Hi,
First - thanks for the great tool, I love using bitwarden to manage my passwords.
The new UI does two things that I don't like - most important is:
The copy username, copy password, and copy TOTP button used to be accessible without an additional click into a copy submenu before - I think that was way more efficient.
Another is that now there is a dedicated fill button which is fine but why remove the functionality where clicking on the entry also autofills it?
Thank you for the great tool and just passing my thoughts along!
