Issue with Mailgun Email Integration (self-hosted)

Hi,

I’m facing an issue with integrating Chatwoot and Mailgun for handling incoming emails. Here’s what I’ve done so far:
1. I’ve configured Mailgun credentials in the Chatwoot environment variables. Outgoing emails work perfectly from the Chatwoot dashboard.
2. I obtained the forwarding email address provided in the “Settings” tab under Chatwoot’s email channel configuration.
3. I attempted to send emails to this address, but they are not appearing in Chatwoot as expected.

My Assumption

I suspect the issue is related to Mailgun’s routing rules. When I set up a routing rule in Mailgun to forward emails to the Chatwoot-provided email address, it doesn’t seem to work. My concern is that Mailgun might be recursively trying to forward the same email back to itself, rather than properly delivering it to Chatwoot.

• Are there any specific Mailgun routing rule configurations required for this integration?
• Is there a working example or a best practice for Mailgun and Chatwoot integration?

I couldn’t find detailed guidance on this specific scenario in the documentation. Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated.
