How to remove The Gitter Badger contributor from the contributors list?

If I go to https://github.com/nbro/myrepo/settings/environments, there is no environment. If I go to https://github.com/nbro/myrepo/settings/access, there are no collaborators. My master branch has only one commit done by me (because I've force-pushed). I've successfully removed all old GitHub pages deployments with this GitHub action. However, I still see The Gitter Badger as a contributor.

Do you know why? Do you know how to remove this contributor? I don't even know anymore what this The Gitter Badger (https://github.com/gitter-badger) was used for and why it's a contributor, but it's actually not a contributor and, if it's still is for some reason I don't know or remember, I want to remove it.

You are not able to remove a contributor without rewriting the history which is not something we recommend. I took a quick look at the profile and looks like it is affiliated with the chat platform Gitter. Did you happen to use any of their services while building the Pages site?

@queenofcorgis Thanks for the answer. I've actually rewritten the history of the master branch, which, in my case, is the default branch, but I still kept a copy of the original master branches. I know it's not a good idea to rewrite history, but this is just an experimental project. Anyway, the gitter-badger contributor is still there. It's possible that I used those services. Anyway, I suppose I would need to delete these master branches backups/copies in order to remove that dummy contributor then?

@nbro given that this is an experimental project and that the bot may have closed PRs which could be the trigger for them being a collaborator - I'd rename the old one, make a new repo with the original name, and force push the sanitized code up 😃
