Description
I noticed that after deploying a site using GitHub Pages, links pointing to the site (from README, documentation, or other repository pages) open in the same tab by default. This can be inconvenient because I lose my place in the repository and need to navigate back.
I suggest that all links to a published GitHub Pages site should automatically open in a new tab (
target="_blank"
). This would improve navigation and save time for users who want to browse both the repository and the live site simultaneously.Possible implementations
Add an option in GitHub Pages settings to automatically open external site links in a new tab.
