Is it safe to remove the person who created our GitHub Enterprise? #173689

Select Topic AreaQuestion BodyThis is a beginner's question. The agency I work for currently has 3 enterprise owners, of which I am one. There's another colleague of mind, so also is an enterprise owner. The third is a person who retired and left about 6 months ago. I have been afraid of removing him as an enterprise owner and remove him from taking one of our GitHub Seats, because I thought that it might be possible that he is the person who set everything up for the rest of us, may mean that he is the lynch pin. That removing him might unravel all our GitHub enterprise, the two GitHub Organizations we have, etc. I also realize that I could be completely wrong. So, my question to you all is this, can I remove the person who retired from our agency from GitHub, and remove him from the list of people who have access to our GitHub Organizations? |

I think you can safely remove the retired colleague. As long as you and your active colleague are both listed as enterprise owners. Removing an enterprise owner wont delete the enterprise or organizations but it only removes their access. |
