Hello, I’m new to the GitHub desktop app(mac), I wonder if anyone has encountered this error after choosing a repo, once close this error, tons more errors popped up.

I tried to log out and re-authorize the app but the issue still occur, can anyone help me, please?

Thanks for sharing the log file @davidgao7. I’d like for you to perform a fresh installation of GitHub Desktop to see if that helps with this issue.

Here’s how to do that:

Close GitHub Desktop
Open File Explorer
Go to %LocalAppData% and delete the GitHubDesktop directory
Go to %AppData% and delete the GitHub Desktop directory
Reinstall GitHub Desktop from http://desktop.github.com

Let me know if that helps at all.

Welcome, and thanks for the report @davidgao7! Could you upload the log file from GitHub Desktop so that I could get some more information about this error? To access the log files go to the file menu in GitHub Desktop and select Help > Show Logs.

The log files are created daily – please upload a log file as an attachment from a day where you experienced the issue.

Hello@steveward thanks for replying! I uninstalled it and reinstalled the app today, do the things all over again and the error is no longer occur, I can’t upload the log file in this chat

Thanks for sharing the log file @davidgao7. I’d like for you to perform a fresh installation of GitHub Desktop to see if that helps with this issue.

Here’s how to do that:

Close GitHub Desktop
Open File Explorer
Go to %LocalAppData% and delete the GitHubDesktop directory
Go to %AppData% and delete the GitHub Desktop directory
Reinstall GitHub Desktop from http://desktop.github.com

Let me know if that helps at all.
