We're excited to hear your feedback on Codespaces but wanted to provide some updates/answers to frequent feedback and questions we've gotten about the beta so far to avoid duplicate discussions being added.
I signed up for the beta - when can I expect access?
We're cautiously adding users to our beta as we refine the product and unfortunately, we don't have a definitive timeline for when a specific user can expect to be added. We ask that you bear with us and we'll get you added as soon as we can. You can always track our GA on the Public Roadmap as well.
Can you increase my quota? The 2 Codespace maximum is limiting for me.
We can't increase your quota while in the limited public beta. We understand that this can be limiting for folks trying to use Codespaces full-time and would love to hear more about how you envision working with multiple codespaces if given the change (feel free to start a Discussion topic 😉)
Can I use Codespaces with my tablet/iPad/phone?
You can use Codespaces on any device with a browser (Edge + Chrome recommended) but we're still working on optimizing the iPad/mobile experience. Feel free to let us know how you're finding the experience so far.
How can I stay up to date with the latest features in Codespaces?
You're in the right place! The Product team will be periodically posting feature updates here as they ship as well as starting discussions on potential changes we're thinking about. Check back often to chime in on our ideas and help us understand what you need next!
What sort of feedback are you hoping to receive?
We want all the feedback you're willing to provide - whether that's praise for a particularly exciting feature you discovered or annoyance at a missing piece that blocks you from utilizing Codespaces as much as you'd like or a suggestion for redesigning an existing workflow. We are looking for your help in understanding what works well and what we need to focus on to make Codespaces shine as a development environment. We're open to hearing your musings, questions for folks behind the scenes, and any other thoughts you'd care to share about Codespaces.
If you have a suggestions for an FAQ we should add, let us know - we'll be updating this post as necessary 📝
