using discussions to write Epics linking issues as user-stories

This is one of the things that I feel GitHub PM functionality lacks.

Right now I use projects as Epics and as Sprint Boards, by tagging them with prefix [EPIC] or [SPRINT] respectively. The main problem is that there is no easy way to see a list of Epics with their tickets (user-stories) listed, I gotta go project by project or use the new API, which is still beta too and still with the API at least it is needed to make 3-4 requests to get a list of projects and the issues on it.

If there was the possibility to link tickets to discussions, each discussion item could be considered an epic, moreover, if there was the possibility to add a progress bar as for projects, and issues listed would make the bar progress as soon as those are closed, it would be lovely.
