Since you cannot create a classic project anymore, workflows that use the project_card trigger won't work.

Are there any plans to support the trigger in new projects?

I'm eager to implement this feature in our team as well, which automates the assignment of testers when a specific status change occurs in GitHub Projects.

Holy cow, did GitHub really disable Classic Projects but not update Actions to support V2? I just ran into this and it completely breaks our team's SDLC automation...

This is already available in Enterprise, so it is possible. The coding job is done, GH just needs to make it available.

I think that one is what you are referring to but it specifically mentions that is it for "classic" projects only

Oh! My bad. Completely overlooked the version.

I wonder if it is an oversight in the docs? Enterprise Cloud does say it is only for classic but none of the server versions do. I just did a quick check and confirmed I cannot trigger on project_card in Enterprise Cloud. I assume cloud is at feature parity with at least one of the older versions of server....

I can't see this on the repo level, but I have this on the organization level (Organization > Settings > Webhooks > Manage Webhook -- see screenshot). This is what we use to send a slack message when a card is moved to the Code Review column (we filter the events in the script the webhook calls)

Upgrading to Projects (new) broke many simple workflows on the board, like adding specific labels to an issue when it is moved to a specific column. Are these features ever coming back?

I was hoping to make use of github actions that would fire on project_card changes.
