How to configure a global mount for all DDEV projects in the $HOME/.ddev directory?

I need to configure a global mount directory to all projects, is it possible?
Now I need to configure it separately in each ddev project by creating a file .ddev/docker-compose.my-mounts.yaml:

services:
  web:
    volumes:
      - "./homemounts/.vscode-server:/home/alexey_korepov/.vscode-server"
      - "$HOME/.local/bin:/home/alexey_korepov/.local/bin"
      - "$HOME/.cache/vscode/containers-bin:/home/alexey_korepov/.vscode-server/bin"
      - "$HOME/.cache/vscode/extensionsCache:/home/alexey_korepov/.vscode-server/extensionsCache"

But want to configure this only once and apply to all projects. Is it possible?

We don't have a configuration of this type, only project-level configuration.

You could make an add-on and apply it to all projects.

Most people don't carefully control their global configuration so this would have risks for your team if you did do it.

It does look like maybe you should be looking at this from the VS Code angle instead of from the DDEV angle...

Thanks! Yes, in this example there is mostly a workaround for the VS Code issue microsoft/vscode#191434 but the "$HOME/.local/bin:/home/alexey_korepov/.local/bin" is a pretty useful trick to have all local tools available in each ddev project.

If the mounted stuff doesn't change, use homeaddittions for this https://ddev.readthedocs.io/en/stable/users/extend/in-container-configuration/

Create symlinks to desired locations inside ~/.ddev/homeadditions, and DDEV will copy everything on ddev start.

The homeadditions technique is a one-way approach. It copies things into the homedir inside the container, but changes made there do not persist.
