4.19I can confirm, the buster kernel has also been working for me. I haven't tested it very extensively though. 6.9The PR is basic stuff to get it to build and boot. Sensors and motors are still broken. As for getting sensors and motors to work: Please note I have zero experience with kernel development and I'm just hacking together some stuff. It could very well be that I'll fail. I do plan to continue hacking around if time permits. |

Objective: To help make it easier to find the nice work with kernels that have been shared in various forks, etc.
Please share in this discussion links to endeavors with custom EV3dev Kernels.
Tinkering with the "Buster" Kernel 4.19:
@StepanTheFlowey
has made some interesting updates to the Buster EV3 buildscripts in this fork.
& also has created & released an updated & trim version of 4.19 kernel ( currently 4.19.325 )
Note: I have myself also booted StepanTheFlowey's kernel...but would need to adjust some things for my use case as discussed here
Tinkering with the "Bookworm" Kernel 6.9:
@recursivetree & @dlech Debian Bookworm 6.9 explorations:
bookworm/linux 6.9: Some progress ev3-kernel#14
https://github.com/recursivetree/ev3-kernel/tree/bookworm-dev
& some clarification questions by @Muresan73 in Discussion New contributor interested in helping with kernel 4.19 → 6.1 upgrade (Rust support) #1653
