Developing similar projects in mathematics

Hello, I am a Postdoc in Mathematics and I have always thought this project needs way more credits and recognition than it actually has.

In fact, it has been very helpful for my studies, and I have always wondered if similar projects do exist for other fields.
One I could have really used (and I still regularly need) is about linear algebra. Many times I needed to know examples/counterexamples to things like "double stochastic matrices have the spectral radius as a semisimple eigenvalue?". Stackexchange and Overflow are full of such questions.

So I wanted to ask if

• Are you aware of any similar projects in other areas?
• Do you think it would be feasible to use the same structure of this project to develop new ones?
• And if so, what skills would one need to maintain and manage such project?
