Is there a way to get the defaultValues?

Here's the way I'm using useForm:

      isDirty,

    defaultValues: {
      customFields: customFieldsDefault,
    },
    resolver: zodResolver(schema),

I'm not using FormContext. I'm using MUI and then defining each component like this:

       ...irrelevant code...

                          fieldState: { error },

My defaultValues is set to be a variable I define on my file, but later on I update the defaultValues with the response I get from a fetch (using reset({ customFields: res });). Is there a way I can get this updated defaultValues reference without having to save the response with a useRef?

I noticed I'm able to access it using control._defaultValues but the _ makes me think this may be a bad practice. Is there any other way?
