Library entering maintenance mode

On March 17th, a post was made on opencollective stating that this library is now in maintenance mode.

The React core team has decided to defacto-deprecate certain APIs like the Context API

I am curious about this statement: this refers to createContext being a client-side only API, right? Or is there some published intention that this API may be removed in future versions in favour of something that works on both sides?

In my day-to-day, RSC are pretty irrelevant, and I think styled-components are a fantastic way to build in an SPA. This decision seems largely based on the assumption that the current direction that React is taking will gain traction - am I alone in thinking that this might be a bit early to call? There seems to be a fair bit of pushback / alternative approaches being explored.

In any case, to any maintainers reading: thanks for all of your great work over the years on this library 🫡
