can you get storage row by id?

i might be missing something, but is there a way to get a stored item from a bucket by an id?
only documentation i can find on getting an item is here, but i was expecting to find something like the below in the documentation since it seems pretty weird that the only way to get an file is by it's pathname 🤔

  .storage
  .from(...)
  .download(uuid) // would be nice to do this

I don't think this answers the question. The goal would be to download a file by specifying the object id instead of the pathname.
