📢 HotorNot DAO Q4 2023 Funding Proposal - Community Voting Now Open

Summary:
We have initiated a critical proposal for community voting. The proposal seeks approval for the allocation of 30,000 ICP from the HotorNot SNS DAO to GoBazzinga Inc. These funds will cover expenses for Q4 2023, concluding at the end of December 2023. The proposal encompasses essential expenditures for HotorNot's growth, including operational costs, team salaries, legal fees, compliance expenses, and strategic investments.

Budget Breakdown:
The proposed funds will be distributed as follows:

Team Salaries:
4 Core Developers
1 AI Developer
1 Product Manager
1 UX/UI Designer
2 Social Media/Community Managers
1 HR Manager

Incorporation Fees and Foundation Fees:
Costs related to legal incorporation of the Hot or Not non-profit Foundation and protection of HotorNot’s intellectual property.

HR/Operations:
Operational expenses, including HR-related costs and administrative overhead.

Legal Fees:
Legal services required for compliance, regulatory matters, contractual obligations, and employment contracts.

Third-Party Services:
Costs associated with third-party tools, technologies, and services essential for HotorNot’s seamless operation (e.g., Cloudflare).

Marketing:
Marketing campaigns, advertising, and promotional activities to enhance HotorNot’s visibility and expand the user base.

Note:
This proposal does not cover ICP for cycles to run the HotorNot dapp or other on-chain costs, which will continue to be funded separately as needed.

Can we have a list of what was done the previous quarter ?

I do not think its acceptable to just list the expenses every quarter without advancements.

Hey, thank you for the question. I think the tentative plans for changes and improvements in the app mentioned in the proposal are not listed in this post. I can list them here as well for your convenience:

1. Multi-Subnet Architecture - Expand to more than one subnet to facilitate new sign-ups in our multi-canister app, enhancing platform scalability to accommodate a growing user base.
2. Content Gamification - Create and refine a new gamification feature tentatively called “Up/Down”, iterating through versions to achieve Product-Market Fit (PMF).
3. N-Phones NFT Game - Integrate the N-Phones NFT game mentioned in our Whitepaper into the app, focusing on the user interface (UI) for a seamless gaming experience.
4. Mobile App Development - Develop dedicated mobile application to provide users with a seamless experience across various devices and platforms.
5. Social Ecosystem - Enhance the leaderboard feature and explore the integration of chat functionality, fostering a more interactive and engaging social ecosystem within the app.

As for the last quarter, we did try our best to build in public. Here is a quick list of advances made (not a detailed list):

1. Decentralisation of the app - successfully completed the SNS and made our codebase public.
2. Whitepaper released.
3. ICRC compatible HOT tokens listed.
4. Optimisations to the video feed - to ensure video quality does not drop after uploading.
5. HOT token Airdrop for our most active users.
6. Multiple versions of optimisations to the home feed algorithm to prevent repetitive videos (this effort still continues).
7. Notifications feature added.
8. Changed the landing page to "Hotornot" making the app more engaging.
9. Improved navigation on the app based on user journey mapping.
10. Attended ICPlab to work with Dfinity engineers on scaling the app beyond a single subnet.
