Create color scheme / favicon #32
Description
Although it would be very nice to have a full brand portfolio of icons, wordmarks and other graphics for PURL and VERS to use on the website, we do not have that portfolio nor do we have the resources to get professional design help at this time. See package-url/community#11 for some 2017/2018 brainstorming about a logo.
The minimum design elements that we need for the first version are:
- Color scheme for the page layout
- Favicon for browsers
Color scheme
The current draft website uses a dark blue header and a dark gray-blue footer (similar to CycloneDX).
We want to keep the color scheme simple and keep in mind that we currently offer light/dark mode so we do not want complex formatting for the page content.
A simple solution could be to keep the current footer color scheme and just focus on the header color schema.
Perhaps we should use a shade of purple and call it PURLple -: )
Favicon
A favicon needs to be very compact and distinctive. There are some ideas from package-url/community#11 that might work with further development, but most are too complex to fit into a favicon.
We are currently using an image of a pearl that is pretty but may not serve our purposes. I have attached 2 additional ideas but they also be too complex for a favicon, but a stylized P might work.
