When filtering by unwatched don’t show collections

I often filter by unwatched to see what movies I have in my library that I haven't watched. All the collections are included in this view, even if they have no unwatched movies. My personal preference would be to not include collections in this view, and to just list movies that are part of a collection individually.

Which version of PM4K are you using?

And, for the library in question, did you check this library setting in PlexWeb?

I am on version 0.7.9-rev4. As far as my collection setting I have it set to: Hide items when they are in a collection.

To give an example. I have a couple titles, that are inside my Alien Collection, which are currently marked as unwatched. If I filter the library by unplayed it will break those out as single entries, but an item for the collection will still be present. Also, all collections show in the unwatched filter, even if every entry inside them is watched.

Typically in Plex with "Hide items when they are in a collection" chosen the behavior is different than what I explained above. When in a standard full library view it will do just what I expect. If a movie is in a collection it will only show an entry for the collection that includes it. None of the movies will be shown separately. As soon as you use a filter though it will show all movies that fall into the filter, and not show any collections.

I attached a photo of what I mean. You can see the two unwatched Alien movies as expected, but that collection entry is still there.

Here are screen shots from another Plex client, showing that collection entries are removed when filters are applied.

That's why I asked which version you're using. This might've been fixed in beta 0.8.0.

My bad. Totally forgot about the thread on the Plex message board where you post betas. Just installed the newest .8 beta. Fixed the issue. All good. Thanks so much!

With 0.8.0 you don't have to pay attention to the thread anymore. It has an auto update function. Just set its update source to Beta and you'll get the option to auto update once a new beta hits.
