Can this plugin work with web link attachments in Zotero?

My library contains mostly items that have a PDF associated with them, but the PDF is not stored in Zotero as a regular file attachment, but as a web link.
The web link of each Zotero item is accesible over the internet and returns the PDF.

Can this plugin work with that type of attachments as well?

Not supported now, it sounds interesting. When having time, we can consider this feature.
