Maybe addition of a dedicated query system, similar to rustc, might be helpful, for queries like type_of and typeck, right now the closest thing is the cached macro.

https://github.com/salsa-rs/salsa is the library to use, but that would only be useful for incremental compilation which I don't think will be necessary.

I'd like to differ, there have always been complains about solc being slow on large codebases, changing one line shouldn't recompile the entire project. Apart from this, incremental compilation would be helpful for IDE experience and CI pipelines. Also with the current implementation of the cached macro, deadlock is possible while trying to use it parallelly.
