At the time this feature was not (yet) built in. At that time I couldn't find any other action that would solve the use-case of calculating a semantic version based on github labels.

I personally use this together with https://github.com/patrickjahns/chlgr to manage the release workflow for personal ansible-roles

Any further remarks from your side ?
