Disabled keyboard bug

Native android samsung or google keyboard doesn't appear on screen when you click into the terminal or any other text input area. The little keyboard button in the corner doesn't bring one up, nor do the ctrl/alt/del buttons even respond to the cursor either or touching the screen either. Tried uninstalling as well, in case this had anything to do with choosing the wrong initial settings like unchecking certain keyboard while booting up but the problem persists
