Map Markers Don't Appear As Map Backdrops

Neatline is not working properly. Map markers don't appear and uploaded images don't appear as map backdrops. Files also don't seem to have uploaded properly to the items database.

Which version of Neatline and Omeka are you using? Can you tell me a bit more about the exhibit that you're trying to build with Neatline, please? You want to use high resolution images as the background of the exhibit? and you've made annotations on the maps/images, but you don't see them in the exhibit? Is there a public URL that you can give me so that I can look at the exhibit you're trying to build?

Hi Ronda, Please forgive the delay but the end user was on vacation. She explains the issue as follows: “Attached are images showing a neatline exhibit with the map markers, and without the map markers, and a neatline exhibit with and without the background image. “ We are using the latest version of Omeka 2.7 after upgrading from version 2.6.1 where Neatline had no issues. We can run the older Neatline plugins with Omeka 2.7 and it works just fine. Of course Omeka 2.7 asked or suggested that we upgrade our Neatline plugins to the latest for that version and we did. Neatline is at 2.6.2. I took a screenshot and attached it as well. @tpegues2 Have you tried upgrading to the current dev version of Neatline? We had to do that on a freshly installed Omeka site. Neatline has been updated since 2.6.2, but the next release number isn't out yet (https://forum.omeka.org/t/neatline-bug-in-2-6-2-records-no-longer-displaying-in-published-exhibits/8898/5).

Thanks @jcmundy! Good catch! This very definitely was a bug that has now been patched, but the 2.6.3 release hasn't been tagged yet.

Hi All, just installed a new Omeka 2.7 and Neatline 2.6.2 site and this problem is still there (records don't show until selected). Any word on when the new 2.6.3 release will be tagged @jeremyboggs ?

@apjmason Sorry, we're still trying to figure out what exactly the problem is. Records not showing until selected sounds like a slightly different issue that map markers not appearing at all. If anyone has links to accessible exhibits with these issues, it would help me to debug things. Otherwise, I'll keep trying to figure it out. Thanks!

@tpegues2 Are you talking about Omeka items, with file attachments?

Hi folks,

I just tagged version 2.6.3, which addresses #470. I suspect the same MySQL syntax error reported there might also be causing the issues you're seeing here. Please do upgrade to this version, and if you still have the same issues with map markers, let me know. (It might take a while for this release to appear on the Omeka plugin directory.)
