Record value field validation

Hi, I am having troubles with the Record's value field validation. I set the tolerate_non_rfc1035_types configuration to true for A and PTR records, as those are being validated somewhere else. I tested that it works by creating records with the following name: _test_underscores_. Since I am able to create an A record with this name, I would like to beable to create a PTR record with the same value (so that those 2 could be mapped), is it possible to somehow disable the value field validation in the configuration (similarly to tolerating the non rfc1035 types in names?).

You're right, name validation is very relaxed for PTR values, but not as relaxed as with tolerate_non_rfc1035_types enabled. The problem is that the flag only applies to names, not values.

I'll look at how that can be solved most elegantly. At first sight, the best way seems to be to disable validation for DNS names in record values as well for a given record type.
