Not a bug but request actually. I have some stock books in epub that do not have cover images. On my reader it doesn't show the cover for that reason.
All the books I have in Calibre where I also add the missing cover (download jpg from web and edit metadata), but this is for the GUI metadata only, It is not actually added to epub file. I always use kepubify before uploading book to my Kobo since it does much better layout especialy with books that include images.
For the books that do not have first page cover it adds a blank page with text "Page intentionally left blank by kepubify." Wouldn't it be better to add the cover image if present in same folder as epub file and if filename is named cover.jpg (Calibre standard)?
For workaround I need to reconvert the original epub file in Calibre to epub and this will add the cover image, but it will break the original layout and only then use kepubify.
One step less and, I am sure this would help many others that have books without cover, would be to add the first cover page by kepubify. Maybe not by default but an extra command line parameter?
