v3: Choosing among several Microsoft 365 accounts when using New Outlook #2036
Comments
Hi @ThomasVeco and thanks for the early use of v3 - really appreciate it! I've not tested this, but in principle you would need to follow the same approach as for syncing with multiple Google accounts. Let me know how that works for you. |
Hi Paul,
Thank you very much for your prompt answer!
I have tried following your description to do multiple configurations, but it seems to me that it is not working.
Maybe I'm just not able to figure out how to do things right, but I miss a way to choose between Outlook mail addresses. I will be happy to be corrected if I am doing things wrong.
When configuring, I hit the "Retrieve Calendars" button in this window:
[cid:e4d3b7fb-f7b0-46b3-82a6-a4b3e88539f1]
and then this window is shown to confirm login to the outlook mail account:
[cid:e1d960a9-d979-4b78-b5af-2b9b2cba81fc]
The problem is that I do not want to connect to the ***@***.*** account (marked with redabove), but I see no way to choose another account. I have tried hitting the "Disconnect account" and re-hitting the "Retrieve Calendars" button in OGCS, but it results in always trying to connect to the ***@***.*** mail account.

Hi again!
\
I think I found the problem - and a workaround.
It seems like the OGCS v3 still tries to read account info's from a "Classic Outlook" installation, if this is available on the computer.
You need to remove the account that you don't want to use from "Classic Outlook", then configure OGCS using the right account. I don't know if you can re-enable the deleted account from Outlook afterwards - I haven't needed to test this.

One last feed back:
Each time I start OGCS v.3 I have to manually set it to use the online mailbox (in Settings -> Outlook -> Outlook Online / Microsoft 365). Until I do this the synchronization fails.

Hi @ThomasVeco, unfortunately GitHub doesn't support submitting files and screenshots to the ticket when replying by email - could you log in to GitHub to upload the screenshots you had in your first email response? Without the screenshots, I'm not entirely clear on the issue, though v3 is intended to support both Classic Outlook and Outlook Online. When selecting the latter, the mailbox configured in classic should have no impact on the sync, but you seem to be reporting otherwise with your workaround? For Outlook Online, there certainly seems to be an issue that it doesn't allow you to specify the account to connect with after the first time. I'll need to add in something to allow this.
How many Profiles do you have configured in OGCS? Is it just one for Outlook Online, set with a sync schedule? Notes for self, also may be useful to provide links to revoke permissions from OGCS: |
Hi Paul
I have only one single profile defined in OGCS (except that it seems that I cannot create an online profile without defining a classic profile in advance). The mail address for both profiles is the same.
PS: It seems to me that you have perfectly understood the issue that I tried to describe :)
PPS: Despite the issue we are discussing: I still think that OGCS is a fantastic piece of software, and I am happy to assist in any way I can regarding debugging the product.

Thanks for the feedback @ThomasVeco - I'll look to build something in for one of the next couple of development releases. |
OGCS version 3.0.0.11
I have several Office 365 accounts installed on my computer. How do I specify which one should be used by OGCS?
When hitting the "Retrieve Calendars" button, it always connects to the same account (that is not the one I want it to use)
