generally speaking yes, it certainly can. vintage synths and drum machines are really just vintage computers with really nice sound cards and bad user interfaces. |

Hello all,
A large number of vintage synthesizers and drum machines - several hundred, in fact - used EPROMs to store firmware and/or sound samples. If you look at the well-known DBWBP website, you’ll find more than 1,200 EPROM dumps from vintage synthesizers.
For example, the Sequential Circuits DrumTraks from 1984 is powered by a Z80 microprocessor and uses 2764 EPROMs to store and run its firmware, as well as to store drum sounds.
Can One ROM be used in such devices to both store and run firmware and/or store digital sounds?
