Because this feed system is an append-only abstraction, the future has been written that any of these parts can be swapped out with a p2p blockchain, just as how we envisioned (teaser: my "nifty" ideas for an account system are just modeled after maintaining a ledger of what accounts have "postage" remaining and who don't)
