There was a suggestion to extend the preview conveyor to full width, which sounds quite logical yet looks not that pretty. Unfortunately, it's actually considerably better when at full width and compromising on usability would be bad.

The solution that I see is make that setting configurable, at least for now, and move the conveyor above everything to the top. Also consider adding a status bar with buttons and info so the conveyor is a bit offset to the center of the screen.
