Cannot exit through windows taskbar

I am unable to exit the game by right clicking and closing the program through the windows taskbar. Clicking close window just opens the "are you sure you want to quit" menu in-game, and if I right click the taskbar icon again to bring up close window prompt again, the in-game menu closes again meaning it is just brought up again by attempting to close the software.

I have in a few rare instances been able to quit the game by this, but it seems like an oversight/missed bug to not allow. Is this intended or is it just me having this issue?

There is the alternative option to press escape a few times and then hold escape to finally quit the game, this even worked when alt-tabbed but the game is focused. But it's the only game I have to close by pressing escape several times.

For me the game is closed by repeating the right click - close window twice (the first try calls up the dialog, the second try closes the game), unless there are some "critical" events stopping closing (e.g. unsaved beatmap). Alt+F4 twice does the same.

Repeating the right click twice is how I expect it to work, though it doesn't for me even when I have no critical events stopping it. I can easily replicate it.

For me the first try calls up the dialog, and right clicking the icon after closes the dialog. And this just cycles. However, if I alt tab back in once the dialog is there and then alt tab back out I'm able to close the game from the taskbar.

The Alt+F4 thing works while I'm in game as it should. I think the issue is the game is seeing my second right click on the taskbar as a click outside the dialog box (that exits the game), such that the box closes again.

After some testing it only occurs when I have the "Minimise osu! when switching to another app" option enabled, which is default.

I guess I can try and see if I can replicate it on other games in case it's on my end, though I don't recall having this issue in any other game than osu!lazer. Pretty sure osu!stable worked fine too.

I've not been able to replicate this behavior in any other game (as most with a dialog box when in game just closes directly when alt-tabbed) but I did find something.

If I left click anywhere else on my pc after the first right click -> close window, the second time it works and closes correctly. It's as if right clicking the window the first time sets the game in focus again. I can confirm that the game is refocused after the first right click based on the taskbar. This shouldn't be the case right?
