IMO 4K4K vibro abuse is tbh just a theory; and all cases (including that video) are from vibro maps which is unusual mapping style and if someone can cheat with secondary keybind feature that player can get more pp with 7K due to extremely low acc. Also this feature is still enable in etterna, most of bms programs, etc but their leaderboards aren't cooked. However, I agree this concern mania has vibro maps with leaderboard status and can cause massive confusion; not only me and this post's PRer, many mania players are worried about it. Beyond the issue about vibro abuse, I think peppy misleaded original PR's suggestion #26350, that PR intended allowing both DJMAX RESPECT V's 5B style and BMS style which is possible to allocate multi-key on middle column in odd keymodes (1K, 3K, 5K, 7K, 9K...) and scratch lines in n+1K keymodes (that +1K) For conclusion, roll-backing all is too much, this feature is needed for those special cases. If possible, allowing only odd keymodes on middle column would catch both intention and issues; and for future, add new n+1K keybind setting which can play checked "using special line" maps and only allow to multi-key on scratch line (+1K line.) |

This is a major concern for osu!mania fair-play because being able to bind additional keys enables what osu!mania players call "double setup".
Double setup is a playstyle where you play 4k like 8k by using ASDF HJKL and mash all the buttons on a 4 key chart.
This was already considered cheating before as it enables extremely high KPS and it was only possible before using certain keyboard software.
For top level play it is less of a concern to me, but for players who are in 4 digit, they will be able to set plays which are normal much beyond their skill level on maps with dense chord jacks or hand stream for example.
Edit: changed the title, do read the discussion below.
