I've pulled the complete code and implement the sherlock library...
It is starting but nothing is on UI side to see...
Why is nobody working on this project anymore?

As I saw, there is only opening serversocket for accepting incoming connections via tor proxy, but nothing to be done for implrmenting tor service. I guess it asumes the existsnce of running tor proxy. It is not clear how i can figure out my tor address.

Has progress been made or has the project been forgotten? It would be a shame to see it turn to dust.

It seems it has been forgotten.
You can look at https://github.com/prive/prive2-android/network repo.
There we tried to continue implement torchat, added GUI, implemented handshake. But it has been forgotten now.
Hope it help.
