In current ACRN, when RTVM is running, SOS could not restart the whole platform. The severity level of SOS should be higher than RTVM, following feature should be realized:

  • Service VM shall have the ability to shutdown and restart platform when RTVM is running
  • The severity level of Service VM shall be higher than all VMs.
  • Legacy interrupt shall be allowed to passthrough to RTVM by hypervisor
  • Acrnctl shall have the ability to shutdown RTVM with option 'stop -f'
YuanXin-Intel added a commit to YuanXin-Intel/acrn-hypervisor that referenced this issue Jun 18, 2024
1. Enable Service VM to power off or restart the whole platform even when RTVM is running.
2. Allow Service VM stop the RTVM using acrnctl tool with option "stop -f".
3. Add 'Service VM supervisor role enabled' option in ACRN configurator
