New map acts janky unless you add an object, save and refresh the page

Step to reproduce

• Create new map
• Add a entity
• Try to add a bunch of connections and move the
• It starts to shake
• Save map
• refresh page
• Move connections like normal

I've confirmed this. Seems like a possible zooming bug.

I feel like it might have something to do with the whitespace issue. Like there's a height calculation, z-index, or position issue. Haven't looked the code enough, but curious about your thoughts.

@josephlacey I did a little bit of testing in the browser.

I think the issue is caused by the zoom container not being the full with of the area what is visually part of the container.

The zoom container can be trigger to be full width by having enough elements to fill the page, but this fails when you zoom out.
