Question : Is there a documented way to use adaptive without jupyter notebooks #469

All examples in the adaptive code are oriented toward the usage with Jupyter notebooks. However, from software engineering usage perspective, notebooks are not always optimal (see, for example, https://yihui.org/en/2018/09/notebook-war/). So, my question is, whether there is a set of examples for using adaptive without notebooks (simply from regular python scripts).

I have found a mention at section (Using Runners from a script) here: https://adaptive.readthedocs.io/en/latest/tutorial/tutorial.advanced-topics.html

At the same time, the problem for me is almost complete lack of feedback in this case from the long runnning script, so, it is hard to evaluate, how much progress the runner has done, when evaluating a certain number of points
